For a more detailed search, use the Advanced Search option and limit to "Books" in the Material Type menu.
Find books using our Online Library Catalog. Enter your search terms and then limit to "Books" on the right facets or drop-down menus.
Once you find a book, you can request it for pickup or you can find the book on the shelf using its call number. Be sure to write down the complete call number before trying to locate a book on the shelf.
Call numbers are used to group library items including books, DVDs, and audiobooks into subject categories and also provide a means to find those items.
Below are some example of call numbers from the library catalog. The collection the item is housed in is sometimes located at the beginning of the call number
(e.g. Ref = reference collection, Media = media collection, Oversize = oversized collection).
NC780 .A4818 1986
Ref SB403.2 .C65 2003

Take a look at our Locate Books page for a more thorough explanation of finding and interpreting call numbers.
