The College Libraries are looking forward to some new opportunities for collecting data that document the use of resources and services and the impact of the libraries on student success. Here are some particular measures we are anticipating in the future:
- EAB Navigate -- planned to provide data similar to the Accudemia resource, it is hoped that Navigate will enable the libraries to track the use of library services by individual students, and then, in partnership with the IER office, determine if the use of those services impacted student success indicators.
- Consistent assessments in regard to instruction and assistance -- a new survey to assess satisfaction with online appointments is already in the works, and as the library faculty unveil a new Information Literacy Program document this year, it is anticipated that may lead to a unified approach to assessing student learning and perception of the efficacy of class instruction.
- Documenting a recent initiative to develop more video and interactive tutorial modules -- this initiative will likely lead to a new category for the annual review under "Instruction." These modules are being created by librarians for discipline faculty to integrate directly into Canvas courses, and the modules may be used by students and faculty apart from traditional synchronous instruction or courses with embedded librarians, and it will be important to measure usage and assess value as they are utilized.
- OpenAthens and CELUS -- these are two initiatives from the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative that will provide much more granular tracking of the usage of the libraries' electronic resources by students, faculty, and staff. This data will be of considerable value for making appropriate budget allocations.
