There were several library initiatives -- led by a multitude of library faculty and staff -- that occurred this past year but which are not directly reflected in the preceding categories. These initiatives and activities include:
- A partnership with Student Affairs and discipline faculty to support a new "Summer Bridge" initiative for incoming students from SCPS high schools
- Work on an article describing librarian resourcefulness in responding to the challenge of physical campus closures due to COVID
- The development of an online guide linking to available works of literature supporting ENC 1102 readings
- A partnership with Marketing to develop a new video promoting the One Button Studios
- Assistance with accreditation visits for the Nursing program and the Dual Enrollment program
- Librarian presentations at Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning events
- Programming for students to support Banned Books Week in September
- Participation in numerous campus fairs
- Numerous live events for students, faculty, and staff via Facebook
- Providing print books for students in support of Speaker Series events and the Biology Book Club
- Support of athletic teams through the provision of space for team study sessions
- Collaboration with Student Affairs and Marketing to create a brochure on services and resources available to students
- Management of Book Nooks across all campuses
- Moving computer workstations at Sanford/Lake Mary from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor to make them more accessible
- A continued partnership with the Lake Mary Museum to display historical artifacts
- The acquisition of a new set of GED/TABE prep books to support Academic Foundations and the STAR Center
- The acquisition of a new set of over 600 "Very Short Introduction" texts from Oxford University Press
- The integration of ASC and Library services through a shared staffing model at the Heathrow campus library
- The implementation of a new online tool for scheduling library faculty and staff to monitor online chat
- A library staff development day on using DiSC workplace behavior profiles for team building, and also on mindfulness
