The COVID pandemic had a huge impact on the use of physical spaces. For all of the 2020-21 academic year, usage of campus libraries was available only to individual students (not study groups due to social distancing) through a reservation system. Only three of the four campus libraries (Altamonte, Oviedo, Sanford/Lake Mary) were open, with the Heathrow library being closed all year.
Metric: A tally of the number of in-person visits to each of the four physical campus libraries.
Study Room reservations were not taken via the normal LibCal tracking system in 2020-21, but that will resume in the Fall 2021 term.
Zone counts not taken in 2020-21, but that will resume in the Fall 2021 term.
Metric: During the full 2020-21 academic year the college libraries used the SSAP platform developed by CTS to provide means for students to make reservations for using computer workstations or individual study spaces at three campus libraries. These reservations were required for all students using the campus libraries, but this reservation system was retired on August 5, 2021.
