SSC College Libraries Annual Review 2021-22

Metric: The number of courses and sections with embedded librarians, and the number of students in those sections.  Data is pulled from three semesters (Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022).  

Analysis:  In the 2021-22 academic year librarians were embedded in 367 course sections, taught by 125 different faculty, reaching 7,805 students.  This was a considerable increase over the previous academic year in terms of sections, faculty, and students.  A good portion of that increase can be attributed to the inclusion of librarians being embedded in every section of the new First Year Experience course, IDS 1107.  However, there was overall growth in other departments as well, most likely due to the fact that faculty realized the value of having an embedded librarian during the pandemic and have maintained those relationships.
