What are Course Reserves?
Course reserves are books or other materials that support a specific course. Course reserves are available for in-library use only for a few hours at a time so that the most students can have access to these high demand materials. These materials can include textbooks, supplemental materials, media, and more.
How to Search
Search by course code (for example: SLS1101) to see the available items for your course. You can also search by book title.
Where's my textbook?
If you are looking for a copy of a textbook for a course, the SSC Library might have it on course reserve. However, the library does not have a copy of every single textbook for the college. If you cannot find the textbook you want, ask your professor if they have an extra copy to go on reserve. Faculty can submit reserve requests directly through the Course Reserve Form. If you would like to purchase a copy of the textbook to rent or keep, please visit the Campus Bookstore.
For Faculty: Placing Items on Reserve
Provide convenient access to textbooks and other course materials. The items you supply will be:
- Securely located behind the Information Services Desk
- Organized by course number (e.g., ENC 1101).
- Available for your preferred loan period, in or out of library, to students, faculty and staff with a valid College ID
Please submit the Course Reserve Form and bring your materials to one of the campus libraries.
