Use this guide to refer to for training LA's and Student Workers interested in developing their peer reference skills

Collection

Collection Highlights:

  • General Collection:
    Books that support coursework across all disciplines, including literature, science, social sciences, history, technology, and more. These are available.

  • Young Adult (YA) and Graphic Novels:
    A growing selection of YA fiction and nonfiction, as well as manga and graphic novels, to support education students, independent readers, and those seeking recreational reading.

  • Course Reserves:
    Textbooks and course materials placed on reserve by faculty for short-term access. Loan periods vary from 2 hours in the library. Located at the front desk.

  • Media Collection:
    DVDs and streaming media that support classroom instruction and personal enrichment. Physical media may be borrowed; streaming content is accessible via library databases.

  • Electronic Resources:
    A digital collection including eBooks, academic journals, research databases, and streaming video, with the Seminole State Log in.

  • Specialized Resources by Campus:

    • Altamonte Springs: Health and nursing-focused materials

    • Oviedo: Architecture and design-related titles

    • Sanford/Lake Mary: Largest and most comprehensive collection

    • Heathrow: Limited physical collection, with full access to digital materials
